Our Statement of Faith

God is Triune, that is, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

God created heaven and earth.  He made the first human beings, Adam and Eve, holy.  By their disobedience (sin) they brought sin into the world.  As a result, "All have sinned", Romans 3:23. Psalm 51:5 states, "And in sin did my mother conceive me."  Because of sin we must die.  As St. Paul wrote by inspiration in Romans 6:23, "The wages of sin is death."

God loves us in spite of our sin.  He loves us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, into our world and laid on Him the punishment of all sins of all people, including each one of us.

Jesus Christ, true God and Man, lived a perfect life without sin here on earth, suffered and died on the cross in our place, for our sins, and rose victoriously over sin and death on Easter morn.  Now we are justified (redeemed, forgiven, saved) by God's grace to us through faith in Christ as stated in Ephesians 2:8-9, "Yes, by His (God's) grace you are saved through faith.  It is not your own doing; it is God's gift.  It is not the result of anything you have done; and so no one may boast."

The Holy Spirit wants to give this saving faith in Jesus to everyone here on earth.  He does through the means of grace, namely, the Word of God and the Sacraments.

The Word of God (Bible) in both the Old and New Testaments is God's Word to us and is the only source and authority for faith and life.

The Sacrament of Holy Baptism was instituted by Jesus when He said: "Make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirirt."  All are to be baptized regardless of age.

In the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper we receive the true Body and Blood of Jesus in, with, and under the consecrated elements of bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins.  Jesus said:  "this is My Body...this is My Blood...for the forgiveness of sins."  St. Matthew 26:26-27
